Justin McBurney (they/them) is an emerging professional vocalist whose musical experience spans a wide range of genres and styles. A recent graduate of Montclair State University with a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, they perform repertoire ranging from Broadway to Baroque and everything in between.

Now specializing in tenor repertoire, Justin’s earlier work as a baritone—and through a period of vocal transition—brought them to stages across the country in roles including Figaro in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with the New Jersey Vocal Arts Collaborative, Death in Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis at Montclair State University, and the Schoolmaster in Martinů’s Comedy on the Bridge at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

After spending more than a decade pursuing both vocal performance and oboe studies—and overcoming a two-year injury setback—Justin is excited to focus fully on the vocal arts while continuing to grow as a young artist.
